Course Description:
This program is designed to introduce important concepts in Christian Counseling as well as demonstrate how to apply them in real life situations. It will allow students to learn more about counseling from a Christian perspective, equipping them to work in the Christian counseling fields of lay ministry especially among the South Asian community. Participants who complete 80% of the practicums and 80% of the lectures will receive a certificate of participation from the Agape Partners Counseling Education Program.

Practicums:
Lectures will be complemented with case presentations demonstrating counseling in the situations described.  One case study will be required to be submitted for credit towards the certificate of participation.  After every four lectures, students will be required to answer the specific survey questions associated with the assignments.

Consultancy Hours:
Faculty will be available for consultation every Tuesday from 8:00 to 9:30 pm EST .  These questions will likely focus on using COUNSELING for the real life situations, but other questions related to the course are welcome.  Questions asked at alternative times during the week will be answered as soon as possible, but a delay is possible.  Posting questions to the discussion groups on the website will provide an alternative way to get questions answered.

Anxiety

III. Major Mental Health Problems
Depression
Alcohol and Substance Abuse
Computer and Internet Addiction

IV. Family Counseling
Marriage: God's Design
Parenting: Role of Parents   
Youth: Potential and Challenges
